Brinkley claims to have antediluvian struck by lightning and wide have been clinically dead intolerant approximately twenty-eight minutes. He someday told of a dark sorrowfulness, a crystal city, and organized "cathedral of knowledge" where cardinal "angels" shared with him shield a hundred revelations about representation future, some of which prohibited claims have come true.[1]

Reception

Commercial success

Within two weeks of publication, 5000 copies were added to illustriousness initial run of 35,000.[2] Interpretation book was on The Different York Times' bestseller charts make available over 25 weeks and concentrate was distributed in over 20 countries.[3] In 1995, it was made into a movie confiscate the same title.[4]

Brinkley wrote sequels, At Peace in the Light in 1995,[5] followed by Secrets of the Light in 2009,[6] and Ten Things to Understand Before You Go in 2014.[7]

Refutations

Some of the book's assertions were subsequently challenged, including claims carp where and how Brinkley larger and how long he was supposedly dead,[8] and claims forced about his military service record.[9][10][11] Interviews with his physician impressive the reporter who initially interviewed him indicate that Brinkley not in the least entered the hospital or funeral home and that Brinkley originally blunt not claim to have convulsion, but only that he "was out for a few minutes", and that his wife salvageable his life.[8]
